The other major Gauteng city, Pretoria, is a slightly more relaxed city. The administrative capital of South Africa, Pretoria houses the Union Buildings and the Voortrekker monument, which give you some insight into South Africa's sometimes turbulent but never dull history.
The Voortrekker monument and story in particular is an interesting one as it gives an idea of how the Boer pioneers played a role in establishing cities and industry in South Africa.
