Stellenbosch counts under the towns that has a real cultural flavor and boast no less than 7 theaters. A variety of programs are on display during the year. From December to March the Oude Libertas - and Spier Amphitheatres perform some of the best works under the night skies. With the good weather of the region during these months, performances are rarely cancelled.
Picnics are available during these performances and wine is always a welcome companion There are venues, such as the Dorp Street Theater Café, H.B.Thom- and Breugel Theatres as well as numerous others, where a variety of live music can be experienced.
Being a "student town", there are also many nightclubs and bars or live music venues in Stellenbosch and many locals will drive from neighbouring towns such as Somerset West to experience the Stellenbosch nightlife.
