Shopping in Stellenbosch
As most of Stellenbosch's shops are centrally located, the best way to explore them is on foot. There is a wide range of shops and small shopping centres. Stellenbosch has some very traditional shops as well as modern shops, furniture, jewellery, gift and curio shops are all found within the town, as well as clock makers and farm shops. The newest mall in Stellenbosch is Stellenbosch Square in Jamestown. If this is too small for you then only 15 minutes away is the regions largest shopping centre, Somerset Mall in Somerset West.
Try Oom Samie se Winkel (Uncle Samie's Shop). At this famous old shop, one can purchase anything from sweets to alcohol, clothing and fruit. This shop is a true reflection of how locals use to trade 200 years ago.
