Sabie is a quiet little town, which offers an abundance of activities and attractions. Many sports can be enjoyed here including hiking, horse riding, fly fishing as well as many others.
Sabie is also a Malaria free area.
Sabie is about four hours drive from the Johannesburg International Airport, and once you are here there are lots of beautiful waterfalls and attractions all within an hours drive, as well as the Kruger National Park.
This area of Mpumalanga is of outstanding natural beauty, hidden in a deep valley on the escarpment of the Drakensberg mountain range. Along with the towns of Graskop, Lydenburg and Pilgrims Rest, Sabie forms part of the Thaba Chweu Municipality . "Taba Chweu" means White Mountain in Sotho - one of South Africa's 11 official languages - and the name refers to the irregular snow-capped peaks of Mauchberg, Formosa and Mount Anderson - three 2 200m (7 200 ft) high mountain peaks linking Sabie and Lydenburg. The tourism infrastructure of Sabie is well developed and accommodation is not hard to find.
